My name is Miya, pronounced Mee-ya. I am a 29 year old Asian American woman, singer, performing artist and creative media producer. I began playing piano and singing at the age of five and ultimately pursued a career in music, receiving a Bachelors Degree (Pacific Lutheran University) and Masters Degree (Northwestern University) with honors. I have been working professionally for the last decade all over the United States and currently reside in Chicago.

In addition to my musical pursuits, I am extremely passionate about film, media, social media, electronic creativity, and movies/television. I created a social media page in October 2023 for one of my favorite actors, Synnøve Macody Lund, after watching her smashing performing in Lionsgate's Saw X under the handle @dr.ceciliapederson. I could've never predicted what would happen next.

In the last year I garnered over 2400 followers, including Synnøve and her acting agency, actor Donagh Gordon (Finn Pederson, Saw X), Synnøve reposted two of my video edits, and what became a fun little past time on Instagram turned into a full blown passion and hobby. Six months later I directed, edited, and acted in my first short film which won Honorable Mention at the Los Angeles Indie Horror festival.

While I still create content under my @dr.ceciliapederson handle, I am excited to be branching out into larger film work and hope to make more film.
